In short, you go from port-to-port WITHOUT the trainer. Instead just go underwater to the next port, purge the water and your PLASMID (left) hand will appear. Restart the game, but do NOT launch or invoke the trainer. SOLUTION: Before leaving & filling the chamber with water, do a quick-save and a menu-save & exit the game. The left hand (showing the plasmid) is gone. In short, after arriving and purging the water, the PLASMIDs do not fire. It pertains to a bug that DISABLES the PLASMIDs when going from underwater port to port.
